About Us

After accumulating 13 years of electronic and computer experience, Matthew Hunt started A2Z Computing Services in December of 1995. As an independent contractor for MaineStreet Communications, Inc. he supported their clients with Internet connectivity issues, hardware and software support, network services and web site design consultation.

In August of 1997 he formed a partnership with Brian McKenna of PBA Communications, Inc. of Portland. This partnership, named WebMaine, was created to develop a series of web sites aimed at bringing the communities of the United States onto the World Wide Web.

In April of 1999 Matthew purchased his partner's share of the business and began the Hometown USA Community Development Project. This project was divided into two phases with the first one being the creation of the main site http://www.HometownUSA.com that provides a series of smaller pages for each state and community. Currently there are over a quarter of a million web pages on HometownUSA.com representing over 33,400 communities throughout the United States.

Matthew is a past Director on the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, is currently serving on the Messalonskee Area Youth Softball Association’s Board of Directors and has been a member of the Better Business Bureau since December of 1998 with no customer complaints.

In 2009 and with the assistance of Lisa Roy, A2Z Computing Services is recreating Hometown Catalogs. This site will be developed into a vast online catalog specializing in gifts & accessories pertaining to geographic, historical and cultural areas.

The items we have placed on the various pages and categories were placed there, not because they necessarily came from that hometown or region,
but because we feel that there is some geographical, historical or cultural link between the item and the location.
